Artist Statement

Artist’s Statement

“I love the rush of the moment when something appears on the ground that was passed over, unnoticed, or undesired by the casual viewer. This detritus gleaned from urban environments has become my artistic palette. Through the process of developing these collage and assemblage works, I have learned to recognize and appreciate the inherent beauty found in the ordinary and the ephemeral. Assembling these abstract collages may take a few days to several months, and positions of the component pieces may change daily before the final composition is achieved. The assorted elements used in these compositions will then take on a new status of fine art, beyond that of their mundane and ordinary beginnings.”
